CTM at transport logistic 2018 China: more opportunities for local companies

In the end of May, 2018 the next Chinese stage of the global international exhibition Transport Logistic was held in Shanghai. CTM was the only Russian software developer at the event this year. Despite the small number of participants from Russia, we were in a great company, working in the same pavilion with our long-time partners: Russian Railways, TransContainer and UTLC. Transport Logistic 2018 was the fourth in a row for CTM in China, and the eighth, including the exhibitions of this series, held on odd-numbered years in Munich, Germany.

The Chinese market has enormous potential for CTM particularly because of the growing importance of the New Silk Road from China to Europe on the railways of Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and other countries. Along with the increasing attractiveness of the land routes for Chinese transport and logistics companies, there is a greater understanding of the value of CTM software products. Rail-Tariff, Rail-Atlas allow local freight forwarders, carriers, shippers to get a transparent picture of what is happening from the moment when the cargo leaves China and continues its movement through the territories of Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia (summarily 16 countries).

During three days of the event representatives of about 100 organizations from different regions of China, Hong Kong, Japan, Mongolia, Germany, Serbia, Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus visited the CTM stand. Several negotiations sessions with local companies were held regarding opportunities for further integration and cooperation.

As at the recent TransRussia 2018 held in Moscow a couple of weeks before the Shanghai event. The Rail-Atlas, an interactive map of railways of almost 20 countries, got a big interest of visitors who were looking for a tool to plan and map the route. The Rail-Tariff caused great agiotage. This software helps client to calculate freight rates and estimate cost and benefits of railway freight transportation in China-Europe-China directions.

During the event, more than 26 300 people from 67 countries visited 667 stands of exhibiting companies. The main trends noted by the organizers this year were the digitization of the industry and the development of the New Silk Road. With such a set of software products and services covering key areas on the way from China to Europe, we can confidently say that CTM is in trend.
